Heidelblog, A Glorious Unfairness, Psalm 35

Posted on R. Scott Clark’s Heidelblog is a two part exposition of Psalm 35. The author, Zachary Keele, has been pastor of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Escondido, California since 2006. He believes Psalm 35 is a prayer by David as he faced unfair opposition and asked the Lord to intercede and turn the tables on his adversaries. One point made by the author is  the opposition tormenting David was doing so simply for the joy of being evil, which brought to mind Augustine’s admission in Confessions that when he joined a gang of friends and stole pears from an orchard he did so simply for the pleasure of evil. The author’s explanation of Psalm 35 is Christological, clear and convicting, but it is also comforting as he makes timely applications for believers facing troublesome, even overwhelming challenges. The two parts were posted September 5th and 12th and can be accessed HERE. [Posted 9/12/2026]
